The Story Center

The Story Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to training, research, and development for digital storytelling. Online public workshops cover a range of topics including storytelling through digital archives, podcasting, mapping, and videos.

The Programming Historian

The Programming Historian publishes novice-friendly tutorials on a range of digital tools, techniques, and workflows to facilitate digital humanities research and teaching. The Programming Historian has lessons on web mapping, digital publishing, working with audio, data cleaning, and more.

Yale DHLab Quick-Start Guide: Project Planning

The Yale DHLab has put together a guide for planning digital projects. The toolkit includes a step-by-step guides for Rapid Prototyping grant projects, lean canvas, user analysis, ideation, creating a project charter, and closing out your project. This project planning guide provides a useful framework and starting point for digital projects of all kinds.

The Socio-Technical Sustainability Roadmap

The Socio-Technical Sustainability Roadmap (STSR) is a module-based workshop designed to help you and your team create a long-term plan for your digital project. The Roadmap is designed around the conviction that teams need to answer the question, “How long do we want this to last?” at the same moment they are formulating a project’s intellectual goals. Teams can use the Roadmap’s modules for a self-guided workshop.

Oral History Association

The Oral History Association maintains a list of resources including practical guides for doing oral histories, information on IRBs, events and training, and professional organizations.
